ELVA-1 Upgrades DPM mm-Wave Power Meter with Touchscreen Interface

ELVA-1 Mm-Wave High Sensitive Power Meter

📢 ELVA-1 announces a major modernization of its DPM-series mm-wave power meters, introducing a touchscreen interface and a significantly redesigned user interaction system. The upgrade improves the usability of the instrument and makes routine measurements faster and more intuitive for engineers and researchers working with millimeter-wave signals.

Modernised User Interface

The updated DPM control/display unit now features a touchscreen-based control system, allowing users to operate the instrument directly through the display. The new interface simplifies navigation and provides faster access to the most frequently used measurement functions.

The main interface window clearly separates key areas of operation, including frequency control, measurement display, and the main control panel. This layout enables the user to quickly adjust measurement parameters while simultaneously monitoring the measured power and signal frequency.

Several interactive elements have been added to simplify parameter adjustment. For example, users can now modify frequency values using on-screen arrows, a numeric keypad, or an encoder-style control, allowing both quick coarse tuning and precise digit-by-digit adjustments. The display highlights the active frequency digit, making fine frequency selection easier during experiments.

Improved Measurement Visualization

The modernisation also introduces an improved real-time measurement graph, which displays the most recent power readings directly on the screen. Each new measurement point appears dynamically, allowing researchers to visually track changes in signal power during testing or alignment procedures.

The graph includes configurable settings such as:

  • central power level

  • power range

  • graph update rate

  • autoscale mode

Autoscale is enabled by default, allowing the instrument to automatically adjust the graph range as signal power changes.

Enhanced Data Recording and Export

The new interface includes convenient data recording and storage functions. Users can mark individual measurement points, record measurement sequences, and save results directly to a .txt file with tab-separated data columns.

Measurement files can then be downloaded through the built-in web interface, making it easy to transfer data to a computer for further analysis.
